You can even get it via phone call, which is a great option. It's an automatic callback feature that will activate Viber as soon as you answer the call. Viber takes advantage of your internet when sending or receiving messages. But when you go outside, it's necessary to use your cellular data. If your internet is working flawlessly, you should be able to send messages. You need to go to Settings and then tap on Privacy. Find the Collect Analytics button and click Disable. Now, you should be able to receive and send messages freely.
Viber not ringing is perhaps one of the most persistent issues on both iOS and Android platforms. This doesn't always have to be about your phone.
Sure, you might have your ringtones disabled or use a do-not-disturb profile, but in many cases, this isn't the case. Your phone may not be using the internet when it's locked, meaning that you don't receive notifications unless you unlock it. Alternatively, if you use an iPhone, you can choose a notification type in your iPhone Settings app. This will allow you to hear your Viber messages.
Issues with incoming and outgoing Viber calls are not that rare, too. To fix it, go to Settings in your Viber app. This is rarely gonna fix your problem and, as a final and most extreme measure, they are suggesting to completely uninstall and install Viber again.
You can also use the above method to fix any other related Contacts Sync issues between Viber and your Phone. For example, say, your friend has added another new number and you have deleted the old one from the Contacts list, but in Viber you still see both the new and the old number, without any possibility to delete it! Obviously, no waiting for download and if you are on a metered plan, no additional cost!
Your contacts that were not synced will be now properly displayed with Viber icon and with all contact methods available. Additionally, all your Groups that you were participating in will be fully preserved, too! Another bonus is that you do not have to uninstall current version of Viber for example, if you do not wish to upgrade to the latest version for some reason. You will have to activate and re-configure Viber again.
Hi Jana, contacts are by default synced with your Google or Apple ID iCloud account, so you should be able to recover them, unless you turned that feature off, and in that case backups are your own responsibility. I know it's not asked by OP, but it would be better if you could add the step to do that for the sake of completeness — Andrew T.
